CLASSROOMS AND SCHEDULES
-
The basis of our infant and toddler care model stems from providing a loving and safe environment. We believe that children need continuity of care, and so our program is designed for children to remain with the same caregiver until they move into the Pre K room. This provides the consistency and bonding our youngest children need to thrive outside of the home.
Our philosophy is also based in showing respect to the youngest in our care. Maintaining low student to teacher ratios, and providing space and materials that are appropriate for the development of infants and toddlers allows us to support each child in his or her own developmental path. Children at BCGC receive individualized attention aimed at supporting their learning and growth. We teach basic sign language so that children who are preverbal are able to communicate.
The infant schedule for feeding and sleeping is based on each child's individual rhythm.
Sample Schedule
7:30 - 8:15 Drop off and breakfast

**Children go through many changes during these years and their needs and schedules are constantly changing. Our belief is that we best serve the children in our care through meeting their individual needs as they grow and develop, as opposed to trying to have them conform to our schedule. The above are guidelines that we use, but are adapted daily for each child as needed.

We support children's interest in learning about the world around them, with an emphasis on nature, social skills, health and nutrition. We teach respect for our planet and how to take care of it. Our program emphasizes the reuse, reduce, and recycle model in everything we do.

Infant Enrollment & Tuition Policy
Infant Enrollment Schedule
The Center enrolls infants primarily during two enrollment periods each year: January and August. Infant classrooms require advance staffing, training, and planning due to licensing ratios and higher staffing costs, and therefore are not typically filled on a rolling basis. However, please contact BCGC with any questions about enrolling your infant.
Enrollment Deposit
Once an infant spot is offered and accepted, families are required to pay a deposit equal to one month of full tuition.
This deposit is not an additional fee.
The deposit will be applied to the first month of the child’s enrollment (e.g., preschool), provided the family gives at least 30 days’ written notice prior to disenrollment.
If adequate notice is not provided, the deposit will be forfeited.
Holding a Spot Outside Standard Enrollment Periods
Families who wish to hold an infant spot outside the January or August enrollment periods (for example, a baby due in February with a planned start date in May) may do so under the following conditions:
Tuition must be paid for the months during which the spot is being held, even if the child has not yet started care.
These payments secure staffing and guarantee the infant spot for the agreed-upon start date.
Families who currently have another child enrolled at the Center will receive a $200 per month discount on tuition during the holding period only.
At-Risk Enrollment Option
Families may choose not to pay holding tuition and instead enroll at risk, meaning no spot is guaranteed until the requested start date and enrollment will depend on availability at that time.
